Golfing in Park City

There's nothing better than watching your ball soar through the air, most likely further than you've ever hit a drive.  Once you've chosen a course - perhaps one designed by William Neff or a Rees Jones championship course, or our local Park City Golf Club, your next challenge will be to master the art of hiding your shock over how much further your ball soars. Go ahead and tout the bragging rights of your improved game to friends back home. We'll keep your secret about how our mountain location actually adds distance to your shot. And it certainly doesn't hurt your game when you play in summer temperatures that are generally milder than many other golf destinations.

You can golf in Park City the same day you fly in. It's true. Park City golf courses are less than an hour away from Salt Lake City International Airport. The hard part is deciding which Park City golf course you should play first. Park City and the surrounding area are home to seven public and eight private courses. 

Here's are our local Park City Golf Courses.

• CANYONS GOLF COURSE.  The course winds through 97 acres in the heart of Canyons Village, featuring over 550 feet of elevation change with spectacular views of the Wasatch and Uinta Mountains and surrounding valleys. The 18 hole, 6,000 yards, par-70 course, designed by renowned course architects Gene Bates and Casey Bates, offers 18 holes of challenging and enjoyable golf characterized by memorable shots with dramatic views.
• PARK CITY GOLF CLUB.  Park City Golf Club is a popular golf course in the area as it’s located in the heart of one of the most well known mountain ski destinations in the world. Many locals love playing this golf course because it is municipally owned – which keeps green fees affordable – and management keeps the golf course in nice playing condition once the snow melts and golf season gets into full swing.  “Play this one to escape the summer heat, but Park City Golf Club it at its best in September when stunning Fall leaves dot the mountains with reds, oranges and bright yellows.”  

Nearby Midway offers even more golfing opportunities:

• Homestead Golf Course.  Tucked up against Utah’s Wasatch Mountains in the small farming town of Midway, Crater Springs Golf Course (formerly the Homestead Resort golf course) offers a enjoyable setting to spend a few hours on a fun resort golf course. The layout offers a playable design with minimal forced carries, and yet offers back tee options which can offer plenty of challenge for better players. Recently new ownership completed a small renovation of 9 and 18 green complexes which added a waterfall and brings a lake into play on the closing holes on each nine. The new owners also have made sure to keep up the quality of the playing conditions and strive to keep the golf course in great shape.
• Wasatch Mountain State Park - Lake & Mountain Courses. The Lake Course at Wasatch Mountain State Park is a favorite of many players locally and nationally. Consistently, along with its sister course the Mountain Course both golf courses are very well maintained, offer excellent golf experiences – comparable to top golf resorts in the country – and with virtually no distractions or homes in sight.  The Mountain Course at Wasatch Mountain State Park is a favorite of many players locally and nationally. Along with its sister course the Lake Course both are consistently well maintained, offer excellent golf experiences – comparable to top golf resorts in the country – and with virtually no distractions or homes in sight.
• Soldier Hollow - Silver and Gold Courses. The award-winning, Gene Bates designed 36-hole facility is built on the site of the 2002 Winter Olympic Venue for Cross Country Skiing, and offers two excellent public golf courses. The golf course is so good, Soldier Hollow was awarded the 2012 USGA United States Public Links tournament, with a combination of the two golf courses.
